Archival 3.0 REcord Cleaning
$8 per record
Released in December 2020, the absolute state-of-the-art record cleaning process is now available to Perfect Vinyl Forever’s clients. Archival 3.0 elevates the realism vinyl sourced analog sound reproduction to unprecedented levels. Furthermore, we will significantly enhance the sound of any vinyl record pressed dating back to when the first microgroove records were pressed in 1948. Bold claims, yes; this is the expectation we set for our clients. But for $8 per record, we welcome you to hear the results of Archival 3.0 for yourself, with your music, on your playback system.
Archival 3.0 is a nine-step process and takes 60 minutes to complete. Records are placed in a protective carrier. The records are soaked for 10 minutes in a cleaning solution formulated to gently remove all manufacturing residue from the surface of the record. The record is rinsed in lab grade ultra pure water then soaked for another 10 minutes in a cleaning solution designed to remove all organic and inorganic contaminants which creates the unwelcome pops, clicks and crackle that interrupt our joy of music. The record is rinsed again then is cleaned and rinsed using our UltraDeep 2.0 process.
UltraDeep 2.0 Record Cleaning
$5 per record
Our UltraDeep process is a five-step process that improves the sonics of every vinyl record. By ultrasonically cleaning and rinsing the albums, we deeply clean inside the groove of the record. This reveals musical details that have been obscured on vintage and brand-new state of the art pressings alike. Our ultrasonic technology is unique - we use 135 kHz cavitation in our cleaning tank and 220 kHz cavitation in our rinse tank. These high frequency ultrasonic baths help reveal the minute details of music lying dormant in all vinyl records. Your records will be completely residue and static free, and returned to you in a new high quality inner sleeve with a date of service label.
Record Flattening
$12 per record
Warped records happen. The record could have warped at the factory, in the warehouse, in transit or if improperly stored (remove all shrink wrap from your record jackets to prevent warping!). Fortunately, Perfect Vinyl Forever can correct most warps in vinyl records. The cost for our flattening service is $12 per record. It involves a four hour process in our $2000 record flattening machine. If the record is not playable after we flatten it, you will be refunded the flattening fee. All records to be flattened need to be cleaned by one of our processes first. This is to ensure contaminants on the surface are not embedded during the softening and reforming of the record during the flattening process.
Disaster Recovery
$4 - $12 per record
If your records have been damaged due to flood, fire, improper storage, severe mold growth or other issues, all is not lost. We have a series of manual pre-treatment techniques for removing contaminants bound to albums prior to cleaning with our Archival service. The cost will range between $4 and $12 per record, depending on the time required to prepare the record for cleaning with our Archival service. To take advantage of our Disaster Recovery service, simply indicate with a Post-It note which records you’d like us to apply our pre-treatment process. Once your order is fully cleaned (make certain Archival services are used for DR records) , a second invoice will be sent with the additional Disaster Recovery charges itemized. We’ve had a very good success rate of making unplayable records safe to play once again. Please contact us with your Disaster Recovery needs.
