Perfect Vinyl Forever Services

Archival 4.0 REcord Cleaning

$8 per record

In August 2023, the absolute state-of-the-art record cleaning process is now available to Perfect Vinyl Forever’s clients. Archival 4.0 SMF elevates the realism of vinyl sourced analog sound reproduction to unprecedented levels. Furthermore, we will significantly enhance the sound of any vinyl record pressed dating back to when the first microgroove records were pressed in 1948. Bold claims, yes; this is the expectation we set for our clients. But for $8 per record, we welcome you to hear the results of Archival 4.0 for yourself, with your music, on your playback system.

Archival 4.0 is a six-step process and takes 40 minutes to complete. Records are placed in a carrier that seals against the deadwax of the record, protecting the label from moisture. The records are then cleaned, sonically optimized and transformed into high resolution vinyl in our Archival Sequential Multi-Frequency (SMF) cavitation tank.

Archival 4.0 SMF

We are the only record optimization process that leverages the benefits of 80 kHz, 135 kHz and 220 kHz ultrasonic cavitation, sequentially applied to the surface of the record. The result reveals a groove profile from as-pressed vinyl records that is much closer to the groove profile carved by the lathe into the lacquer during the mastering process.

Archival 4.0 SMF transforms your as-pressed records into high resolution vinyl, revealing musical realism, natural sonic queues, and performance details lying dormant in every vinyl record presses since 1950.

The record is rinsed in lab grade ultra pure water then transitioned to the 220 kHz ultrasonic cavitation rinse tank. The very high ultrasonic cavitation ensures all cleaning residue is removed from the record. The record is then dried in our triple filtered HEPA record drying machine, placed in a brand-new poly inner sleeve and shipped back to you for a lifetime of your enhanced enjoyment.

Your records will be completely residue and static free, and returned to you in a new high quality inner sleeve with a date of service label.

disaster recovery 2.0 SMF deep soak pre-treatment

$12 per record

For vintage records with distracting surface noise, we offer our Disaster Recover 2.0 SMF deep soak pre-treatment. We rack and protect the records in our carrier which seals against the deadwax of the record. This prevents moisture from damaging the record labels. The records then safely soak in our deep cleaning solution for up to 24 hours. The extended soaking time releases all embedded organic materials like dust and residual cleaning solutions. The contaminants are removed from the record by 40 kHz and 80kHz multi-frequency cavitation then rinsed in ultra pure water. The records are then sonically optimized with our Archival 4.0 SMF process.

Disaster Recovery 2.0 is an add-on service to our Archival optimization packages. You may select as few as one or up to all records in an Archival order to be pre-treated with our Disaster Recovery deep soak treatment. However, it is not offered as a stand-alone service.

Record Flattening

$12 per record

Warped records happen. The record could have warped at the factory, in the warehouse, in transit or if improperly stored (remove all shrink wrap from your record jackets to prevent warping!). Fortunately, Perfect Vinyl Forever can correct most warps in vinyl records. The cost for our flattening service is $12 per record. It involves a four hour process in our $2000 record flattening machine. If the record is not playable after we flatten it, you will be refunded the flattening fee.

Our flattening service is an add-on service to our Archival optimization packages. All records to be flattened need to be cleaned by one of our processes first. This is to ensure contaminants on the surface are not embedded during the softening and reforming of the record during the flattening process.

You may select as few as one or up to all records in an Archival order to be flattened.
